Friday Night Lights

19th August 2016

This year’s Friday Night Lights at London Skolars, held on the eve of the Challenge Cup final, promises to be bigger and better than ever. The annual extravaganza will see a whole host of games at the New River Stadium culminating in the Skolars taking on league leaders Toulouse in a League 1 Super 8s fixture.

There is a distinct French theme to the proceedings this year. The first game at the White Hart Lane ground on Friday, kicks off at 1pm and will see Invicta Panthers Under-15s in action against their age group contemporaries from the French region of Languedoc-Roussillon.

At 2.30pm it will be the turn of London Skolars Under-17s to take on their Languedoc-Roussillon counterparts. Following these games at 4.30 there is the annual London Masters fixture against the Political Animals.

The main event kicks off at 7pm when the Skolars’ first team take on Toulouse Olympique who are unbeaten this year. Skolars coach Jermaine Coleman said: “It’s a fantastic opportunity for those supporters who are coming down from the North for the Challenge Cup final to have a real weekend of rugby.

“It’s a great concept by the club and is obviously very well-supported. Toulouse have had a fantastic season and are unbeaten but it’s also an opportunity for fans to see us and our progression as a club and as a team.”

To add to the party atmosphere the club will also have its new bar open as well as hosting a beer festival.

Tickets for this great day out are available for £10 adults and £5 concession when bought online, or alternatively £12 and £6 when bought on the gate.
